Peggy Frances Sligh of Raleigh, NC, passed away suddenly on March 6, 2012. She was an Art teacher at Aversboro Road Elementary School in Garner, NC. She was also an accomplished dressage rider and trainer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Sligh of Charleston, SC, and by her father-in-law, Paul Goodman of Etowah, TN.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Goodman; her mother Frances Sligh of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, West and Evie Goodman; and children, Amy Goodman of Apex, NC, and John and April Goodman of Fuquay-Varina, NC. She is also survived by her brothers and their families, Richard and Kathy Sligh of Augusta, GA and their children, Darby and David; as well as Jimmy and Beth Sligh of Charleston, SC. Her family also includes two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Billy and Becky Goodman of Haymarket, VA; and Tim and Cheryl Goodman of Swainsboro, GA; and her sister-in-law and spouse, Paula and Steve Cox of Etowah, TN.
The family will hold a memorial service for Peggy at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609 on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Equine Rescue League (www.userltriangle.org) or to the Aversboro Road Elementary PTA for the Arts.
