Natasha Rhodd-Leathers

Although her years were short, Natasha lived a full life, filled with family, friends, life experiences, and most importantly… love.

After graduating from Southern High School, Natasha used her nurturing spirit to pursue a nursing career, and started her family with her high school sweetheart Lamont Leathers. Natasha and Lamont were motorcycle enthusiasts and enjoyed riding motorcycles to the beach and the mountains, traveling to Puerto Rico, and hosting family gatherings at their home.

Natasha was a loving mother to her four daughters; Inez, Gloria, Angela, and Maria. She enjoyed taking her girls on beach trips.

Natasha had a wide variety of interests and was extremely intelligent. She was always in search of a deeper understanding of life, nature, and sunshine. She was a student of Egyptian History and was fascinated by Queen Nefertiti. She enjoyed all genres of music and could sing like an angel. She was also knowledgeable in nutrition, was a vegan, and provided nutrition advice to family, friends, and her extensive social media following.

After Natasha was diagnosed with colon cancer, Natasha’s bravery was unwavering. She was a true warrior and showed courage in always facing life’s challenges with a smile.

Natasha’s greatest love is her family, and despite how much she loved them, God called her home, and Natasha left her earthly vessel on August 7, 2021 joining him in heaven.

Natasha is survived by her Husband Lamont Leathers; daughters, Gloria S. Leathers, Angela M. Leathers and Maria V. Leathers; Mother Cynthia M. Rhodd and Father Norma C. Rhodd. Her sisters Antoinette A. Rhodd and Husband Shunwel Reid; Jacqueline A.Gardner (Debbie) ; Ingrid S. Powell and Husband Robert Powell. Her grandchildren Ja'Kyrie M. Jones and Sky’Lynn Jones. Nieces Deanesha Collins, Ayannah Reid, Irene Reid , Jadean Collins and La’Deana Collins. Nephews Deshon Powell, Nashair Powell, Shunwel Reid and Nazarell Reid. Aunts Audrey , Hyacinth, Lisa, Uncles Morgan, Noel, Charles, Jerome and Rudolph

She was preceded in death by her daughter Inez Leathers; Grandmothers Gwendolyn Samuels and Tuleta Rhodd

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 12:20 – 2:00 PM with a funeral service immediately following at Southside Church of Christ, 800 Elmira Ave. Durham, NC 27707. Entombment will immediately follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27612.

A repast will be held at 7:00pm at the church.
