Nancy Grant Rhue

Nancy Jean Grant Rhue is the daughter of Hugh Grant Sr. & Martha Olivia Walton Grant and sister of Dr. Hugh Grant Jr. She married her husband, Ronald Rhue, in 1981 and had two adult children, Timothy Grant Rhue & Rebecca Jean Lapps. Nancy worked for the N.C. Banking Commission for 32 years as a bank examiner. She also obtained her CPA certification. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who always prioritized the needs of her family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, boating, and listening to Jimmy Buffett. She loved being a wife, mother and especially Nana. She passed away peacefully Sunday September 10, 2023.

She is survived by her husband Ronald O. Rhue, son Timothy Grant Rhue, daughter Rebecca Jean Lapps, son-in-law Ryan Christopher Lapps, and three grandchildren Makayla Gwen Lapps, Penelope Grace Lapps, & Holden Grant Lapps. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Hugh Grant Jr, niece Georgia Grant Horsley, great nephew Andrew Davis Horsley & his wife Autumn Horsley and their son, Wesley Grant Horsely. She is survived by her great niece Erin Horsley Kendrix & her spouse Cody Kendrix. Additionally survived by her nephew Charles Walton Grant and his wife Allison Dorsey Grant with their children Davis Glen Grant & Lindsay Elizabeth Grant.

A memorial service for Nancy will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC.
