Nancy Carolyn Perry

She was born July 12, 1935 in Louisburg, NC to the late Herman R. Chesson and Dot Greer Chesson. She graduated from Mills High School in 1953 and Woman’s College (now UNCG) in 1957.

Nancy was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 30 years, Nicholas Massenburg Perry.

Nancy was a member of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church since 1957 where she participated in the Chancel Choir, Sanctuary Bell Ringers, Circle 7, United Methodist Women & the Altar Guild.

For 43 years, Nancy worked for Williams, Realty & Building Company and considered them her second family.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha Perry Gerringer and husband, Carlson Gerringer. Her son, Nicholas M. Perry, Jr (Jennifer Durby, girlfriend). Grandson, Brandon Nicholas Gerringer and wife, Audrey Pelve’. Granddaughter, Sarah Chesson Perry (Michael Morris, boyfriend) all of Raleigh. Two brothers Buddy Chesson and wife, Barbara of Lexington, NC, Jim Chesson and wife, Kay of Winston Salem. Her special sister, Mary Helen Hamlet of Fayetteville, NC, her “right arm nephew,” W. Christopher Chesson of Lexington, NC, so many special nieces and nephews and her Goddaughter, Martha Hamlet Hipp.

A service will be held at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, 2209 Fairview Rd., Raleigh, NC 27608 on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
