The bells of heaven rang on November 15, 2021 for Mary Clyde Waters. Mary Clyde Waters was born November 28, 1942 in Plymouth, NC. She was the daughter of the late Clyde T. Waters and Edith Ange Waters.
She is survived by a brother, Wayne Waters and his wife Wilma. She is predeceased by her brother Bruce Waters.
She was an active member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church. She considered the members part of her family and served in many capacities during her forty plus years as a member. She served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and loved to help out with meals at the church. Many times she recruited volunteers for Wednesday night suppers. Mary Clyde had the sweetest spirit and never seemed to anger. She was a caterer and made beautiful wedding cakes. She retired from the North Carolina Employment Security Commission in 2007.
In her earlier years, Mary Clyde enjoyed traveling with friends. As her health declined she never complained. She loved meeting new people while at Whispering Pines Independent Living Community, and while there she served as an Ambassador greeting new residents.
Her family and friends will forever be grateful for the care and love Hillcrest of Raleigh gave her during her stay with them.
