Marie Starling Bailey, 92, of Wake Forest, died on April 5, 2019. Marie worked for the state government for over 20 years before retiring in 1988. Spending time with her family truly meant a lot to her. Marie never met a stranger, and could talk to just about anybody. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed doing puzzles.
Marie is survived by her two daughters, Wanda McElveen and her husband, John McElveen, and Georgia B. Mustafa and her husband, Nader Michael Mustafa; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and her sister, Faye Nelms and her husband, Ronnie. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, James Herman Bailey; son, Philip Van Taylor; her parents; and four siblings.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10 from 10:00-11:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
