Lois Byrd Jackson, 89, of Benson, went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2015. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a long time member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Maymers, NC.
Lois was a woman who had a lot of spunk, and who would do anything for anybody. She loved life, and had a will to live, wanting to make sure to be around as long as she could to be with her family and friends who meant the world to her. Her favorite past times included collecting Beanie Babies and circle word books.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Pat Limbo (Terry) and Lynn Coley (Randy); grandchildren, Tracy Tuggle, Ray Hall (Lori), Jeremy Limbo (Jennifer), Mandy Limbo (Megan Mayo), Heather Eredia, Shannon Kellogg (Matt), Holly Stevens and Ashlie Mitchell (Star); eleven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth McNeil. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jackson; parents, Malcomb and Fannie Byrd; daughter, Brenda Smith; granddaughter, Kelly Smith; two brothers; and one sister.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am, Saturday, July 18 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am, with interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family would like to thank everyone who gave their time, love and support to Lois during her recent illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC.
