Kimberly Ellen Kohagen, 49, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2011, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on February 19, 1962, in Geneva, Ohio, to her parents the late Jimmy G. Brown and Mary Ellen “Mitzy” Paine Brown.
Kim graduated from Ohio Northern University and attended John Marshall School of Law, earning her law degree. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, the Raleigh Racquet Club and founding member of the Restoration Community Church in Raleigh. Kim love photography, but it was her caring, compassionate and magnetic personality that will always be remembered. Above all, she loved and cherished her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Kenneth Kohagen, daughter Kirsten, and son Michael. She will also be dearly missed by her brother Gregory Brown and his wife Ruth, father and mother-in-law Richard and Eileen Kohagen, as well as family pets, CiCi and Jinx.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday October 8, at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC. Officiating by Rev. Robin Phillips. Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice of Wake County, www.hospiceofwake.org or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, www.ocrf.org., in memory of Kim.
