Judy Anderson Anderson Wood

Judy Anderson Wood, 66 of Raleigh went to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 20, 2012. Born on October 14, 1945 in Danville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Wistar and Sallie Anderson. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, George and Robert Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson retired as an insurance underwriter for several insurance companies in the Raleigh area. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church in Raleigh. She was a loving and devoted mother, wife and grandmother.

Surviving are: her husband of 42 years, Leslie Wood of Raleigh; a son Andy Wood and wife Ihrie of Raleigh; a daughter Ginger Aycock and husband Ben of Raleigh; a granddaughter Georgia Aycock of Raleigh; two brothers, Champ Anderson of Sutherlin, VA and Charles Anderson of Ringgold, VA; three sisters, Virginia Russell of Richmond, VA, Emma Turner of Danville, VA and Mariah Farmer of Charlotte.

The family will be present Friday 6-8 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Wood's memory may be made to the Autism Society of North Carolina, 505 Oberlin Rd. Suite 230, Raleigh, NC 27605.
