John Louis Vaughan

Mr. Vaughan was born August 15, 1940, in Durham, NC, to the late James Willard Vaughan and Florence Andrews Vaughan. He was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, VA, and North Carolina State University. For most of his career he was a sales engineer with Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

He was an active member of Asbury Church in Raleigh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and following his favorite sports teams. He took pleasure in observing the wildlife in his back yard, and could often be found with a beloved family dog in his lap.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Peggy Vaughan, he is survived by his sons, John Louis Vaughan, Jr, and his wife Katie, of Gluckstadt, MS, Jason Vaughan of Las Vegas, NV, and Michael Vaughan of Greenville, SC, and grandchildren Austin, Hunter, Ashley, August, and Audrey.

Mr. Vaughan was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, James Vaughan, Jr.

Honoring his wishes, a private funeral service was held at Raleigh Memorial Park.
