Jennie Dolores La Scala Carpino

Jennie worked briefly in retail until she chose to stay at home and be a wonderful wife and mother to her family. She loved to cook and bake and her family will always remember the delicious meals that came from her kitchen. Jennie also enjoyed spending time making her yard and garden beautiful.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Ann Hildebrand, of Port Jefferson, NY, Josie Fitzgerald and husband Kenneth, of Wilmington, NC, Carol Setzer and husband Russell, of Bayville, NJ, and Elaine Pozarycki, of Raleigh, NC. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Brian, Susan, Janice, Kelly, Tracy, Debbie, Amy, Lori, Janie, Jill, Catherine, Jenny and Richard; and by her great-grandchildren, Peter, Samantha, Joseph, Michael, Shane, Allyssa, Ryan, Trevan, Hunter, Kamryn, Brennan, Mitchell, Casey, Dana, Alexandra, Dalton, Ryan, and London. Also surviving are her sisters, Ms. Rose Chimeri, of Lake George, NY and Ms. Rita Digati, of Morehead City, NC. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joseph Anthony Carpino.

The family will receive friends and family, on Sunday, March 17, from 2:00-4:00pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Monday, March 18, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, on the corner of Hillsborough and McDowell Street, Raleigh. Entombment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
