He had recently moved back to Raleigh from Greensboro, NC to be closer to his family. He was known by friends and family as the “good guy” who was always ready to pitch in to help when a friend or family member asked.
A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Radio, Television, and Motion Picture Production, Jason lived life on his own terms after leaving a conventional career in management and IT. He built a rich network of friends and colleagues throughout central NC as a DJ and, more recently, throughout the United States as a domain name investor. As a DJ, Jason could read the room and create a dynamic atmosphere where people could enjoy themselves and have a good time by dancing the night away. Jason’s knowledge and creativity in recent years focused on building a business in domain name investing. His technical knowledge and ability to read and understand people provided a unique insight into this industry where he generously shared his knowledge with others.
Jason leaves behind his mother, Martha Elam Sheppard, and sister, Kelly Sheppard Murray and husband Damu and child Scarlet. Jason is also survived by Aunts Mary Sheppard and Elizabeth Mascarenhas, Uncle George Elam, and cousins Pam, Julie, John, and Lee along with their respective families. Jason is preceded in death by his father James Dow Sheppard, Jr., paternal and maternal grandparents as well as Uncles John Elam and Joselyn Mascarenhas and Aunt Attoinette Kratt.
