"Dr. Georgina Lockie Hicks, 95, of Raleigh, North Carolina died on Wednesday October 9, 2013 very peacefully at the Rosewood Health Center. She is the daughter of the late George Lockie and Clara Perry Lockie of Carterville, IL.
Mrs. Hicks earned her Ph.D. in French from the University of Illinois, and taught French language and literature for many years at Ball State University. She is survived by her daughter Gina Royalty and husband Reed of San Juan Capistrano, CA; grandsons, Nate Royalty and wife Susan of Davis, CA; Dan and wife Annette of Flower Mound, TX; and Doug and wife Karen of Raleigh, NC; as well as 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hicks is preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul.
