Howard proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates as Plant Superintendent after 38 years of service. Howard enjoyed all sports, THE WOLF PACK, GOLF, especially Phil Mickelson, living at the beach, NASCAR and lived life to the fullest.
Howard is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jessie Cook Hemric; son, Richard, “Ricky” Howard Hemric; parents, and 6 brothers and sisters.
Howard is survived by his son, Danny Hemric of Sanford, NC; daughter, Frankie Carrigan of Raleigh, NC; sister, Pearl Brooks of Ronda, NC and Nellie Sue Mathis of Elkin, NC; brother, Troy Hemric of Florence, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August, 1, 2013 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
