Frank Fulcher Mills, III, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2021. He was born on December 6, 1942 to Frank and Edith Mills in Oriental, NC. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1965. Frank joined the Navy in 1966 and served his country in the Vietnam War.
Frank moved to Raleigh, NC in 1971 where he started working with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as a Budget Analyst. He met his wife, Elizabeth Owen, in 1972 and they were married in May 1973. They had two children, Jonathan O. Mills and Lauren Elizabeth Fye (now married to Gary Fye).
The family started attending Providence in 1994. Frank and Liz enjoyed being involved in their Life Group (the Berean Class), along with City Serve, Bible Studies, and an international Mission Trip. The family would like to thank the church for all their love and support during Frank's illness.
As empty nesters, they enjoyed traveling all over the world, and by December 2019, they had been to all seven continents.
He is survived by his wife, his children, his sister, Gloria and her husband, Glen, and niece Tracy, as well as extended family.
A service to celebrate his life was held at Providence Church on Monday, October 25 at 2:00 pm. Burial followed in Raleigh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN.ORG) and/or Meals on Wheels of Wake County (wakemow.org).
