Evelyn worked for the British Leyland Motor Company before devoting her time to her family as a wife and mother. She and her husband, Carl, moved to Raleigh when Carl took a position at NC State in 1983 where he is the Kobe Steel Distinguished Professor. Evelyn and Carl did extensive traveling together during his career traveling to China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, her gardens, walks, her dogs, and was an avid tennis player for the University Club. Most of all she enjoyed her time with her family and many friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire and more recently, the Victorian Tea Society.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Carl Koch of Raleigh, their two sons: Paul R. Koch and his wife Sara of Raleigh, and Alexander J. Koch and his wife Allison of Hickory, grandchildren: Blake, Sydney , Kaitlyn and Hailey; and her sister Susan Roberts and husband Alan of Queensland, Australia.
A time of Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Friday August, 14, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Saint Mary’s St. Raleigh, where a Funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday August 15, 2015.
