Eric was born in Jacksonville Florida on November 26, 1974. He grew up in Erie Pennsylvania and graduated from McDowell High School. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where he studied journalism.
Eric’s childhood activities included Boy Scouts and karate in elementary school, water polo and the downhill ski club in high school, plus playing keyboard in the “Lonely Star Project” band, which performed in shopping malls.
Eric had a very strong interest in many aspects of media, including music, movies, books, and pop culture characters.
Eric and his wife Norah Hall were together for 17 years, and were married since 2011. Over the years Eric worked in several positions at Barnes & Noble including Music Manager, Merchandising Manager, and Assistant Store Manager. In addition to being a friendly and helpful salesperson, he was universally liked by all of the staff members.
Earlier in his career he worked for the record company “Deep South” for which he scouted talent, set up bands at various venues, checked the agreement between the venue and the contract (think brown M&Ms) and went on various “adventures” too numerous to list.
According to those who loved him best, what he would most want to be remembered for was being the devoted father to his pride and joy, his daughter Audrey.
Eric is survived by his wife Norah Hall, his daughter Audrey, his father and mother James and Lynn Wolf, his sister Sarah Smith, her husband Matt, and their daughter Ava.
Visitation for Eric will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. The celebration of life will begin at 1:30 PM with Rabbi Lucy Dinner of Reform Temple of Raleigh will be officiating.
