Elizabeth Cherry Alexander, 39, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on June 27, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a courageous 20-month battle against stage four colon cancer. She is now in the care of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Elizabeth was born on May 6, 1985, to Burford and Patricia Cherry in Statesville, NC. Growing up, Elizabeth was a talented singer, musician, volleyball player, and loving older sister to Katherine. Faith was the center of her life starting at a young age, which began through her active involvement in First Presbyterian’s youth program. After graduating from Hickory High School in 2003, she went on to study early childhood education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Teaching Fellows scholarship.
She began her education career as a second-grade teacher at Combs Elementary in Raleigh, NC. In 2007, Elizabeth met the love of her life, Graham Alexander and began her next adventure. They got married in Hickory, NC at her childhood church, on June 26, 2010. She and Graham are devout members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. After teaching in the public school system for five years, Elizabeth went on to serve as the Children’s Ministry Director at Christ the King. The light of their lives are their three precious children, Margaret (age 10), Joseph (age 8), and Caleb (age 4).
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11am at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 100 Peace St., Raleigh, NC. The service will be live streamed at the following link, https://youtube.com/live/dYImHPqZh_M?feature=share
In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth had requested that her family and friends give a donation of time, of serving others, be made in her name
