Curtis Calvin Cornell Jr, died August 28th, 2020 in Raleigh, NC. Mr. Cornell was born June 28th, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was married to his wife Barbara for nearly fifty four years. Curtis was a Professional Electrical Engineer with a Masters in Finance. He worked for Air Products and Chemicals headquartered in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania as a Director of Purchasing for a majority of his career.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Barbara, two sons, Steven and his wife Nicki, Brian and his wife Karen, his four grandchildren, Kerry, Anna, Christopher, Caitlyn and his brother Rick Cornell.
Curtis had a passion for physical fitness, played football in high school, track in college, was an avid skier, and golfer. He excelled in his education and instilled a strong work ethic in his sons. Curtis was extremely proud of their success, their families, and the fathers they both became. He loved his grandchildren and followed their accomplishments closely. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan and witnessed Franco Harris’s Immaculate Reception in person. A memory he shared with every Steeler fan he met.
He was the son of Curtis Cornell Sr., a World War II veteran that served in the Battle of the Bulge who was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
At his request, no service will be held. We are looking forward to honoring his wishes in his last will and testament and spreading his ashes at one of his favorite ski resorts.
