Bonnie Conway Wright, age 80, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Reserve at Mills Farm in Apex, NC. Bonnie was born February 9, 1942 in Bassett, VA, to the late Hope Leftwich Conway and Richard Conway.
Bonnie called Raleigh home for more than 50 years. She studied English at Wake Forest University, teaching high school English upon graduating. She then received her Masters degree in Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill, and ultimately taught speech and language therapy in the Wake County public school system for more than 20 years. She was a charter member of Crabtree Valley Baptist Church, serving as Deacon and Sunday School teacher for several years. Bonnie loved spending time with family and friends, playing the piano, reading, and traveling.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Beth LaSasso and Jodi Snare, and her sister Kit Conway. Beth and her husband Rex reside in Raleigh; Jodi and her husband Mike reside in Apex; Kit resides in Chapel Hill. Bonnie also had three beloved grandchildren: Travis Albrecht, Kayla Snare, and Steve Snare. She was also blessed with a beautiful great granddaughter, Laikyn Albrecht, from Travis and his wife Brooke.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, officiating was Pastor Johnny Richards. Bonnie will be buried in the Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, VA on Monday, June 20, at 2:00 pm.
