Bernice Simpson Ladd

Bernice was born and raised in Neptune, NJ. She graduated from Neptune High School and later graduated from Ann May School of Nursing, Fitkin Hospital (Jersey Shore Medical Center). Bernice served from 1943 to 1945 in the US Navy Nursing Corp. Upon moving to Raleigh, she became an avid golfer. She was a member of the NC Seniors Golf Association and Wildwood Green Ladies Group. Bernice and her husband, Harold enjoyed playing golf throughout various states across the country. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Harold E. Ladd, Sr., her son, Harold E. Ladd, II; and her precious grandchildren, Kyle, Anna Maren, Troy, Christina and Ryan. Bernice was predeceased by her parents; her son, David Ladd and her daughter, Michelle Bogan.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 23, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
