Barbara Joyce (Helfrich) Mason

Barbara was born in Washington, NC, graduated from Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School in Clark, NJ and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Douglass College in New Brunswick, NJ. Barbara raised two children in Raleigh and went on to pursue her passion for design and the renovation of historical homes in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC before returning to Raleigh in more recent years. Barbara, a caregiver by nature, spent countless hours loving and investing time in the development of her children and formed a very special bond with her grandchildren and her brothers’ children. Her nurturing ways and beautiful life will forever be cherished by her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who was always there when we needed her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thelma and Raymond Helfrich and is survived by her husband, Paul Mason of Raleigh, daughter Amy Mason of Raleigh, son Jeff Mason and daughter in law, Leslie Mason, grandson Jack Mason and granddaughter Kate Mason all of Kensington, MD. Also, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Debbie Helfrich of Raleigh and Curt and Carol Helfrich of Isle of Palms, SC.

The family will be holding a private memorial in Barbara's memory.
