She is survived by her daughter Jackie B. Mizelle, son-in-law Bert Sult; granddaughter Melissa B. Mizelle; grandson Sam Mizelle and his wife Katy, and great-grandson Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband Rice A. Roe, former husband John (Jack) M. Bennett and son-in-law Don Mizelle. Her siblings, Paul Hatley, Silas Hatley, D.G. Hatley, Gertrude Hatley, Lillian Nunn and Mary Justice also preceded her in death.
Anne was born in Chatham County December 29, 1923; she moved to Raleigh after graduating from Pittsboro High School to live with her sisters Gertrude and Mary Lee. She lived the remainder of her life in Raleigh. She worked for more than 50 years as a receptionist, first at Peden Steel and then at Clancy and Theys Construction. She was a true asset to both companies and much loved by her employers, co-workers and the people she interacted with every day. She took great pride in her role as an ambassador for Peden and Clancy. She ended her career at the age of 82 after suffering a stroke.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Sunrise Assisted Living for the compassionate care and love given to Anne in the last months of her life.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11amTuesday, November 9, 2010 in the Chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Road. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, Pittsboro, NC The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
