Anne was born in Salem, VA to Charles Lewis Hatcher and Mary Rogers Hatcher; she had a loving sister Mary Lou Hatcher. They had a wonderful childhood and eventually wound up in Raleigh NC where they attended Hugh Morson H.S. and Peace College. They excelled in tennis, excellent grades, school dances, and boys. They worked for the parole board and soon Anne met and married Malcolm Dorris Goss from Fuquay.
Dorris and Anne soon had a lovely daughter Mary Anne Goss, three years later a son Malcolm Dorris Goss Jr. Eventually, after several moves the Goss family settled down in Charlotte. Dorris was in the poultry business and Anne worked for Mecklenburg County Board of Elections where she retired as chief registrar. She went to Raleigh to take care of her father before he passed soon after, her husband, Dorris passed in May 1970. Then followed by her mother and sister in 1986 and 1987- Anne herself survived pancreatic cancer several years later. She belonged to the Eastern Star.
She was a beautiful person, a wonderful mother, and the best pecan pie and pound cake maker that ever was.
Rest in peace Anne, you lived 97 full years and we were so lucky that the good Lord blessed us with your kind and thoughtful self. We will miss you and your smile more than you will ever know.
Goodbye, Mother. I love you!
