Alwyn Patricia Shannon R. Jones

A veteran of the Korean War, he served overseas with the 306th field hospital MASH Unit of NC. He returned from the service to Endicott, NY to employment with IBM, where he worked 34 years before transferring to IBM in Raleigh. He retired in 1987.

He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Kalurah Shrine Member in Binghampton, NY.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sue H. Jones of Raleigh; children, Kathy Ann Chanitz of Raleigh, Richard John Jones (Jane) of Sarasota, FL, Nancy E. Blair (James) of Raleigh and Jeffery Thomas Jones (Tiff) of Pikeville, TN; grandchildren, Heather M. Nance and Christopher J. Pier; and great grandchildren, Desiray Nance, Gavin Nance and Harlowe Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet Jones; his older brother, William Jones and oldest son, David L. Jones.

Visitation with the family and short celebration at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road, Raleigh on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Bring stories and prayers to share. Visitation with the family at Allen's Funeral Home in Endicott, NY on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 2:30-3:00pm immediately followed by a memorial service.
