Alton Dale Dillard

Alton Dale Dillard, 67, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2011. Born on July 25, 1944 in Raleigh; he was the son of the late Elmer and Agatha King Dillard and brother of the late Glenda Evans. Alton served in the U.S. Air Force, receiving honorable discharge.

Known as the local handyman; Alton had a career in electrical work, including with Aeroglide for five years. He was also the owner and operator of Dillard’s Grocery on Leesville Road. He was an avid bass fisherman and truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, always willing to give a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamala Ehrens Dillard; son, Kevin Dale Dillard and wife Tanya, of Holly Springs; daughter, Ann Capps and husband Monty, of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica Capps and Kaitlin, Austin and Grayson Dillard; brother, Ector Dillard and wife Ida, of Bristol, TN; and by other family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue). Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11 AM at Ebenezer Community Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
