Michael J. Kelley, Sr. of Quincy MA, formally of Weymouth, passed on Friday Feb 21,2020, which was his 65th birthday, he was surrounded by his loving family. He had a valiant fight with Leukemia and previously survived Lung cancer. Mike was born in Weymouth, the son of the late Edward P Kelley, Sr and the late Dorothy A Curtis Kelley. He was educated at Weymouth Vocational Tech High school, class of 1974. He grew up in Weymouth, then moved to Quincy in 1985.
Mike worked as a self-employed carpenter for most of his adult life, and most recently was employed at Fruit Center Marketplace in East Milton Square. Mike was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and watching sports with family and friends. Mike loved playing cribbage and fishing with many of his friends from the Squantum Yacht Club, where he previously held different executive board positions, including Past Commodore. Mike was a member of the US Coast Guard auxiliary, and many other organizations including the Weymouth Elks, and Clowns of America, in which he entertained special needs children through the Elks.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 45 magical years, Deborah A. (Chick) Kelley, and three children, Michael J. Kelley, Jr, his wife Allison of Hanover, MA; Crystal McKenna, her husband Richard of Billerica, MA; Scott Kelley, his wife Brielle of Quincy, MA. Mike is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren; Bella, Norah, Camryn, Ricky, Myia, Rosalie, and with one baby girl on the way.
He is survived by 7 siblings; Edward P Kelley Jr, his companion Linda Presutti of Scituate, MA; Brian Kelley, his wife Hillary of Milton, MA; Jean Long, her husband Mike of Hanover, MA; Kathy Ready, her husband Dave of Dennis, MA; Mary O’Toole, her husband Martin of Raleigh, NC; Diane Sayers, her husband Mark of Quincy, MA; Margie Fitzpatrick, her husband Chris of Attleboro, MA. Mike is survived by his in-laws; Bob Chick, his companion Denise of Quincy, MA; Tammy Bradley, her husband Jack of Quincy, MA; Gary Chick of Maine. Michael is also survived by extended family and lifelong friends.
