She met her future husband Norman Goodwin Jr. through her best friend Joetta Niemeyer and was in a loving marriage for 35 years until Norman passed away in 2005. She was also pre-deceased by her parents Carolyn and Rev. Dorland Russett. Norman and Beth shared a great love for crossword puzzles, science and time spent in Boothbay Harbor together. She is survived and greatly missed by her three children: Sharon DuPont (Paul) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Mark Goodwin of Braintree, Massachusetts; and Meg Donahue (Steve) of Wilton, Connecticut; her four grandchildren, Noelle and Danielle DuPont; Morgan and Liam Donahue; by her brothers Chris Russett of Tulia, Texas; and Jack Russett (Betty) of Zanesville, Ohio.
Beth loved singing and was a long-time member of the Quincy Choral Society. She was also an accomplished piano player. She would make her amazing “Goody” cookies with homemade frosting for the neighborhood during Christmas and other holidays throughout the year.
She was a proud owner of a knitting machine that produced many creative outfits for her children. Her great love of reading was fostered by her Grandmother Edna Sprunger Muselman who owned a religious bookshop in Berne, Indiana. Beth always had such a beautiful smile on her face. Her kindness and compassion were noticed by all. Her festive earrings and sweaters brought joy to everyone around her. She had a sweater and earrings for every occasion….for every season : ) “Says You” was her favorite radio talk show and she used to record the nightly news every night so she wouldn’t miss a thing. She had a great love for animals and had many pet cats over the years. Beth passed away peacefully on Monday April 17th, 2023 with her three children and her brother Jack by her side.
