Yvette Momplaisir-Avin, affectionately known as "Tatti," "Vevette," "Man Vevette," and "Ma Tante Yvette," passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 89 in Manhasset, New York. Born on June 13, 1934, in Grand Goave, Haiti. Yvette was a treasured member of her family and community, beloved as a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend.
Yvette's journey to the United States marked the beginning of her pursuit of a better life. Her dedication and hard work were evident in her over 25 years of service at American Express and Pan American Airlines, where she left a lasting impression on her colleagues and friends.
Known for her unwavering love and generosity, Yvette's philanthropic spirit shone brightly. She was a beacon of hope and kindness, consistently supporting various charitable causes through her donations. Her home was a haven for many, reflecting her nurturing and supportive nature. She was deeply involved in her community, always ready to lend a helping hand and touch lives with her kindness.
Yvette's legacy of love, generosity, and dedication will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence leaves a void, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were touched by her extraordinary life.
A visitation for Yvette will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 22439 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428.
A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 115-58 222nd St, Cambria Heights, NY 11411.
An entombment will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:45 AM at St Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11785.
