Macajoux and their children, Claude J. Macajoux, Ralph Macajoux and Johanne Macajoux.
Renee was a very special lady, starting from her name “Renee Rene”. She had many names, Tho, Ninnin Tho, Tate Tho, Renecita and Mommy.
She moved to Canada from Haiti at the age of 20 and lived there for about 2 years. Renee married Robert on December 16, 1970 which was one very cold and stormy day. As a married couple they moved and lived in Queens, New York. She worked very hard so that her children could attend private school. Renee and her daughter Patricia both graduated from York College in 2001 on the same day. She became a Special Education Teacher. She truly loved her job, the staff and the children that she worked with. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and seeing many places. Her favorite was the Great Wall of China. If you know Renee (Tho), then you know that she loved to bake cakes. She touched many lives with her famous marshmallow icing on her cakes and anyone who has ever had one of her cakes knows that she put her heart and soul into making them. As you all know, Renee was selfless. She was always putting others first and would bend over backwards to help a family member or friend in need. The world has lost a gem of a human being and we all should aspire to live in her footsteps. We are all better for having known such a gentle soul and we know she is looking down upon us from heaven with that loving smile she always had. Her family would like to express thanks for the tremendous outpouring of love they have received. Thank you for all your prayers, continued support, from Haiti, Canada, Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, and Boston.
The visitation is from 5 pm until 9 pm on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the R. Stutzmann and Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Saturday December 21, 2013, at St. Joachim and Anne Church from 9 am to 10 am. The burial will be at the Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
