Mrs. Marie Jacqueline Adonis of Hollis, NY passed away peacefully at the age of 77 at Queens Hospital.
Jacqueline was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Jean Baptiste Abellard Milord and Clotilde Dufrene Louis. Jacqueline is the youngest of six children (Mark, Gladys, Francis, Solange and Yves, two siblings remain). She migrated from Haiti to Puerto Rico with a visa and then went onto Brooklyn, NY to start her life in the USA as a temporary resident and eventually became a US Citizen and lived most of her life in the borough of Queens, NY.
When she arrived in Brooklyn, she worked as a housekeeper in the Upper Eastside of Manhattan for
many years and eventually got a job in Goldwater Memorial Hospital and worked her way up to LPN
Nurse and retired.
Jacqueline was a very traditional, strict, strong, very independent, religious, devoted, kind and generous
person. She always sought out the advice and listened to her older brother and sisters. She was a friendly person to everyone, loved to socialize, loved going to church, loved to cook, window shopping and shopping.
She was a member of the congregation for St. Gerard Majella, but often went to Blessed Sacrament, St
Joan of Arc and St. Ephrem Church.
Mrs. Marie Jacqueline Adonis was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother who is survived by
her husband Sauveur Gerard Adonis and son Milhardi Gerard Adonis, daughter in law Stacy Yearwood,
grandson James Gerard Yearwood Adonis, daughter Marie Guirlaine Adonis, sister Solange Milord, Sister
in law Immacula Milord, niece Irmine Milord, nephew Yves Milord Jr, brother Francis, Sister-in-law
Awilda Milord, nephew Francis Milord Jr, niece Wilden Milord and Idalia Gonzalez.
