He attended elementary school at St. Gerard Majella, located in Hollis, New York. He also attended Jamaica High School. After graduating high school, Kenneth went on to attend Queens College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Upon graduation, Kenneth began his career as an Associate for Dean Witter, Morgan Stanley where he met his soon to be best friend and loving wife Shanti Johnson. Kenneth and Shanti loved, adored and appreciated one another. Many times he would text her saying, “what would I do without my baby?” Kenneth looked forward to date night every Friday with his lovely wife.
Kenneth also, looked forward to taking summer vacations and enjoyed road trips to Baldwin, Michigan to visit his mother in law.
A history buff in his own right, Kenneth loved to read world history books. He also took pride in his model car, coin and postage stamp collection.
As a young boy, his favorite animal was the Wolf. His sister Judy has fond memories of him howling like a wolf.
He developed a love for match box cars and looked forward to his Dad bringing him cars when he came home. He loved batman, baseball and airplanes. Kenneth was a bright child and a highly intelligent man. He always had a zest for learning. He loved to visit museums and historical sites.
In 1994 Kenneth became the proud uncle and godfather of his niece Danielle Wong.
Kenneth (Kenny) Chiu, 47 of Queens, New York went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2014.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Shanti Johnson – Chiu, his parents Mr. Wai Ho Chiu and Mrs. Mui Shang Chiu, a close sister Judy Chiu, brother in law, Kenneth Wong, niece and goddaughter, Danielle Wong, mother in law Marjorie Lee Johnson, sister in law Alou Golden, brother in law, Pedro Windsor, wife Nellie Windsor and Eric Johnson, wife Akiko Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
We will miss you Kenny, but we know we will see you again. Rest in Peace.
