Diana Luisa Whalen

Diana Luisa Whalen, daughter of Anna and Luis Marrero, was born on March 4, 1947. Diana attended The Mary Louis Academy and obtained both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in education from Queens College. Thereafter, she began teaching first grade at Immaculate Conception school in Jamaica Estates.

On July 12, 1969, Diana married her love, Laughlin Whalen. Together they had two daughters, Anna and Christina, for whom she gave up her career to raise. She continued to devote her life to her husband and children, and did the same after she became Nana to Juliet and Kellan and Grandma to Alipio and Alan.

Diana was an amazing wife, as well as a selfless and caring Mother, Nana and Grandma. She will surely be missed, but will live in our hearts forever.
