I didn’t know him very well but over  the past few years, I catered events thru him several times per year. He was always friendly, gracious and went the extra mile. As the main contact at the restaurant, he was definitely one of the reasons i returned. I know that i could count on not just the food being fantastic - but the quality service. He was a great businessman from my perspective and that says a lot about a person. I am sorry to hear of his passing. Wishing peace to his family. 

My name is Amber King I’m Deron’s cousin but let him tell it he was my brother more than he was my cousin. Deron took me to my first NBA basketball game when my favorite player’s team came to New York for a game because that’s who he was. He wanted to make everyone he loved happy. Always calling and texting sitting on the phone with my sister and I for hours always there for us. He took pride in being a big brother he was everyone’s big brother at heart. I am devastated I haven’t spoken to him in a while and I’ll never get the chance to do so again. I love my brother so much and will miss him for the rest of my life. My heart and prayers are with Ms.Donna and Daxton the biggest pieces of his heart❤️

Life continues to throw us untimely challenges. It’s how we choose to handle them, that will provide us with the peace and comfort to get through. We became friends fast in JH. We hung out everyday after school with our little group and developed our own hug and handshake. All we did was laugh at the bus stop, laugh in class, on the bus and after school. We had fun times and that’s what I’ll keep with me. The great memories of a great person. I never question God, I just accept his will. 

There has never been a time where I have seen you and you didn't say to me "thank you for loving me brother". You joined Kai at my sweet sixteen who knew that we would know each other this long.  We thank you for honoring our families life.  My children adore you and call you uncle.  I love you and thank you for accepting and including me in your friendship. I always knew that if I needed anything... you would always be there to lend a hand.  I thank you for that.  Until we see each other again my brother.

A friend from HS. What can I say?  You always had the ability to get a smile and a laugh out of people. Even though we lost touch after HS (pre cell phone days) I have and will always have the fondest memories of you, our good laughs and your genuine life my dude.

This is one of the toughest moments of my life. You were my best friend. My brother. A huge part of me is missing now man. I miss you. But I’m glad you’re finally at peace.  I love you bro, and I’m incredibly grateful for the short time we had recently when you came to visit in Texas. I worked at Kirschenbaum & Phillips with Deron for a few years.  He was a quiet and respectful co-worker. He used to bug me to cook him Haitian Black Rice, which i did.  He's going to be missed. His family are in my prayers.   R.I.P.  my friend.
