Gary Martin Guffey, 76, of Puyallup, WA, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 10, 2013. Born in Seattle, WA to Woodrow and Cecile Guffey he lived most of his life in Eatonville, WA.
Gary was a passionate man who enjoyed being a recreational pilot. He was a Marine veteran and had a long career in law enforcement as a police officer, and retired as a Lieutenant from the WA ST Dept. of Corrections. In his spare time he enjoyed flying planes, playing cards with his family (“and a quarter”) and traveling with his best friend and wife Claudia on his Goldwing and in their motorhome.
Gary was extremely loving and proud of his children, Gary A. Guffey of Rainier and his wife Ramona, Terri Guffey of Puyallup, Kelly Adamson and her husband Richard, of Puyallup and Michael Guffey and his wife Erin of Sumner, WA. He is also survived by his wife and best friend, Claudia (Wessman) Guffey and his two brothers Jim Guffey of Bend, OR and Bob Guffey of Helena, MT.; as well as his 6 loving grandchildren and other friends.
