Sidick Mohammed “Joe” 79, of Cape Coral FL passed away on September 6, 2023. He was born in Trinidad West Indies. He came to the United States and worked 20 years at DG Wheeler as a heavy construction mechanic. Additionally, Joe worked 20 years before retiring from Anheuser-Busch in Baldwinsville NY. For 34 years Joe served as a pilot for search and rescue in the civil air patrol in both Upstate NY and Punta Gordon FL. He also volunteered for FEMA and the Red Cross.
During his retirement Joe enjoyed working on classic cars including restoring his prized 1966 Mustang convertible. When moving to Florida he took great pride in outfitting his mechanics garage with all his toys and tools. He would often go to Harbor Freight or Lowe’s and spend hours browsing, talking to new people and sharing information on the best tools; he should have been paid a commission! He will be remembered and greatly revered for all of the knowledge he possessed, stories he shared and the comedy he provided.
Joe leaves behind his loving wife Blanche Madill of Cape Coral FL. Sons Rasheed and Khalil Mohammed of Syracuse NY, daughter Amy Jamerson of Richmond VA, his nephew and niece Michael and Meredith Turtschin and granddaughter Emmalyn Turtschin of West Bridgewater MA, nephew and niece Damian and Sarah Neumann of East Taunton MA, granddaughter Tia Mohammed of KY and granddaughter Kalliope Mohammed of Trinidad as well as numerous cousins.
