Port Charlotte, Florida- Patricia Jean Davidson, 83, passed away Monday evening, June 24, 2024 in Akron, Ohio. Born in Barberton, Ohio in 1940, she was raised in Firestone Park, attending St. Paul Grade School and Garfield High School, graduation class of 1958.
Pat retired from Bridgestone/Firestone after 20-1/2 years of service, last working in Dealer Operations. She moved to Maple Leaf Estates in Port Charlotte, Fl November 1992. She then worked for the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners retiring in May 2002 after 9 years of service.
After Hurricane Charley destroyed their home they moved to Fort Myers, Florida, living there for 11 years where Pat was involved in the Friends of Lakes Library, Little Theater of Jamaica Bay and various line dancing groups.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Robert Gerald (Jerry) Davidson in Ormond Beach, Fl.
She returned to Port Charlotte to be closer to family where she was a member of the Ladies Guild of San Antonio Catholic Church.
She is survived by immediate family, daughter, Kristen Hovater and grand dog Emmy, Akron, Oh; son David (Bubba) Hovater (Cindy Carnahan) of both Punta Gorda, Fl and Akron, Oh; and daughter Amy Meszaros (Kevin) of Chicago, Il as well as grandchildren Campbell and Lars Meszaros. She is also survived by her sister Carol Woody (Richard deceased) of Port Charlotte and nephews John and Matthew Doshak and their families; and brother, Richard Marquardt (Kathy) of Buckeye, AZ and nephews Ed and Steve Marquardt and their families. She will be missed by special friends Tom Hovater and Sue Thomas.
A memorial mass for Patricia will be held Friday December 27th, 2024 at 11am at San Antonio Catholic Church located at 24445 Rampart Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33980 (941) 624-3799
