David "DJ" Jon Grooters, Jr. age 53, passed away April 26, 2021. He was born February 15, 1968 to Judy and David J. Grooters, Sr. in Grand Rapids, MI. DJ attended Grandville Elementary and Junior High in Gradville, MI. He graduated from Lemon Bay High School in Englewood, FL. DJ was a Boy Scout and enjoyed Little League Baseball growing up. He also loved collecting coins and Pokémon cards. DJ spent many weekends going to Flea Markets, looking for the best deals. His beloved dachshund, Lil' Girl, went everywhere with him. DJ is survived by his parents; his son, David Matthew Grooters; and his sisters, Tracy A. Grooters, and Brand S. Nelson. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10am at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, FL. Interment will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood, FL.
