Chris was born in Bristol, England to John R. Brooks and Catherine S. Brooks who preceded her in death. She came to the U.S. at the age of five, and moved to Fort Myers in 1961. She attended elementary school, junior high, and high school in Fort Myers. She was also a graduate of Edison Community College. She is survived by brothers, Michael R. Brooks and Rodney A. Brooks, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
At an early age Chris developed a love of gymnastics and became an accomplished athlete. Her love of gymnastics lead her to opening Gymnastics World in South Fort Myers. This gym will be celebrating 50 years of success in Fort Myers this year. Chris has had the opportunity to influence thousands of young people thru the years, not only teaching gymnastics, but teaching perseverance, courage, independence, sportsmanship, confidence and the value of hard work. Chris was loving, strong, caring, compassionate and generous.
Christine will be missed by family, co-workers, friends, and many parents and young people in the Fort Myers area. Memorial gifts can be sent in her name to your favorite animal shelter or to Saint Jude’s Hospital for Children. There are upcoming plans for a celebration of life.
