Dorothy Jean Smith

She was born on September 6, 1929, and was the daughter of Allison and Hila Minatra Worsham of the Beech Hill Community. She graduated in 1947 from Beech Hill High School and was employed for 27 years in the Trustees Office and Office of Records in the Giles County Court House. In 1962 she married Robert Wayne Smith of Pisgah, and was a long-time member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. She loved the farm, flower gardening, sewing and cooking.

Graveside visitation will be on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 1:30PM to 2:00PM funeral time at the Maplewood Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Reverend Mark Templeton and Paul McKinney.

Dot is survived by her husband, Wayne, her brothers and sisters: Harold Worsham of the Friendship Community; Glen (Cathy) Worsham of Elkmont, Alabama, Jane Worsham Dawson of Pulaski, Wanda Worsham Martin of Decatur, Alabama and Ann Worsham Hollis (Bobby) of Lynnville, TN. She is also survived by a beloved grandson, Robert Douglas Smith of Cornersville, Tennessee.

Dot was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Leigh Smith in 2012, her parents, Allison Worsham (1977) and Hila Worsham (2000); brother-in-law Frank Dawson (2009) and sister-in-law Bettye Jean Worsham in 2000. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or Pisgah United Methodist Church Building Fund.
