Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to
1972, 2 years active and 4 years reserve. He was honored with the National
Service Defense Medal. His final rank was E3. He completed his tour of duty
with honor and distinction and was given an Honorable Discharge by the
government and a grateful nation.
Upon leaving active duty, Robert was united in marriage with Ernestine C.
Wilson in Pueblo, Colorado. With this union, Robert became the loving
stepfather to Ralph Jr., Eric and Adrianne. The marriage was blessed with the
birth of two more children, Sharyl and Robert Jr. “It was a loving and close
knit family. They always did alot of things together.” In later years, his
grandchildren, LaShawnna and Allison and great grandchildren, Armon,
Anthony, Avion, Jaden and Joaquin were an additional source of joy and pride
in Robert’s life. He loved them dearly and they always enjoyed being with him.
By profession a heavy equipment Diesel Mechanic, Robert was employed
for over 22 years with various U.S. Defense Department contractors. His work
took him all over the United States and the world even as far as the Ukraine.
He was known for hard work, dedication, dependability and excellence in his
work.
In his free time, Robert enjoyed time with family and friends. His closest
friends were Linda Ransom, Chuck Howell and Jason Fierro. A people person
who greeted everyone with whom he came into contact, Robert was loved for
being “a kind man with a big heart”. Robert had a special lovefor his mother-in-law, Ms. Madie O. Wilson. “He would sit for hours on the porch enjoying her company.”
He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
On September 21, 2011, Mr. Robert Lee Addison, Sr. passed from this life into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons, Robert Jr. and Eric Hudson. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Ralph Hudson, Jr. of Pueblo, CO; daughters, Sharyl D. Addison of Aurora, CO and Adrianne Montgomery of Colorado Springs, CO; siblings, JoAnn Trotter, Cora Graham, Jerry Addison, Allen Addison, Gail (Ernest) Snowden, John Addison, Larry (Rosalyn) Addison and Kim Addison; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
