Michael J. Regan, Jr. (85) was called to the Lord on March 17, 2019 . He was born March 27, 1933 in Pueblo, CO to Michael J. Regan, Sr., and Catherine G. Marrinan. He attended Pueblo Catholic High for two years and then graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1952.
After graduating High School he joined the Air Force and flew missions during the Korean War.
It was during the war that he married his wife, Rose Marie Clemens, June 19, 1953. They had two sons, Michael III in 1954 and Robert in 1955, while stationed in El Paso, Texas.
After being discharged from the Air Force, Mike went on to work for the Pueblo Army Depot until the Army announced the closure of the Depot.
It was during this time that Michael and Rose Marie became the legal guardians of their nieces, Mary Beth Swick and Susan Swick, whose parents were killed in a tragic car accident on Mother’s Day in 1973 at which point they became “dad” and “mom” .
Michael and Rose Marie loved both girls dearly and considered them as daughters.
Michael went on to earn his PhD in Higher Education, becoming a Dean at Colorado Technical College (now a university), and a professor at Pueblo Community College, for over 25 years.
Michael is predeceased by his parents (Michael and Catherine Genevieve Regan), brother Daniel M. Regan, niece Cali Regan, nephew Darby Regan, his loving wife Rose Marie Ann of 47 years, and in-laws George and Elizabeth (Clemens) Swick.
Michael is survived by Michael J. Regan III (Karen Anderson) of Denver, Robert (Brenda) Regan, Mary Beth Garrett and Susan (John) Falsetto, of Pueblo; grandchildren Andrew Regan (Erica Phillips), Anna Genevieve Regan, Sean Regan, Christina (Bryan) Posa-Weigel, Edward (Samantha) Posa Jr. , Stephen and Jason Falsetto; great-grandchildren Gianna Weigel, Dominick Posa, Weston Weigel, and Gino Posa; and special friend and "pal" for 39 years, Eleanor Falsetto.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the Dorcy Cancer Center.
Viewing on Monday, March 25, 2019, from 4-6 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. with refreshments afterward. Both at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home, 329 Goodnight Ave.
Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019, Our Lady of the Meadows, followed by burial service at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Lunch will be served at Our Lady of the Meadows after the interment.
