To his sisters and brother, he was "Brother Mark". To his nieces and nephews, he was "Uncle Mark". He truly loved being an uncle and was a great one. He teased, laughed at and loved each one of them. Over the years, some of his best friends were his nieces and nephews.
Mark worked as an electrician and had many friends and colleagues. He loved all sports and was a huge Bronco and Nuggets fan. In his younger years, he played ball, went skiing, rode motocross and even rode the Bull at Gillys. He also enjoyed playing with his guitar and playing golf.
Mark was a devoted son and caregiver to his parents for the last several years. In the last couple of years, he was able to travel around the states with his nephew Jakes baseball team. This was a great source of pride and happiness for him. He loved being there for the team and cheering them on.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert S Cortez and sister, Bobby McMullen. He is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Cortez, sisters Valerie Bundy, Laura Butkovich, brother Erron Cortez and several nieces and nephews.
