Kenneth Dale Burk, affectionately known as “Red”, was born November 5, 1955 to Kenneth Robert and Betty Ann Burk, who preceded him in death. He peacefully passed on October 24, 2020. He was a lifetime Puebloan, who preferred not to drive anywhere past the South Side. He was also preceded in death by his special nephew Shawn Bieker and brother-in-law John Bieker. He is survived by his loving daughters, Mary (Charlie) Bocchietti and Brandi (Sean) and delight of his life, his five grandchildren. He cherished his special relationship with his grandson Izaiah and always had fun with Angelina, Giana, Charlie and James Kenneth. He is also survived by his siblings, with whom he was very close: Peggy Bieker, Linda (Dave) Watson, Mike Burk and Jackie (Darrell) Olson; nieces and nephews Shelley, Leanne, Kim, Jennelle, Kyle, Maggie, Michelle, Brian, and Ashley and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Kenny Dale loved fishing and hunting with family and friends, going for drives to the reservoir, and “coasting”, while watching the Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies play. You didn’t call him after the Broncos lost! Above all he was a gentle, caring, loving man who would help anyone. He rarely used the word no. He had a knack for witty sarcasm, making everyone laugh and ‘’harassing’’ those he loved. He was a great friend to so many people.
He worked at ‘’the mill’’ for 42 years, beginning in the CF&I days and retiring from the current Evraz, in 2018. He spend decades working as a skilled crane operator in the rail mill. He had a great sense of work ethic and always taught his family to work hard. Anytime a past coworker spoke of Kenny, they would share their admiration of him, his dedication to work and what a great guy he was. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Parkhill Baptist Church, 4235 Parkhill Pl, Pueblo, CO 81008. There are plenty of seats available and social distancing guidelines will be followed. A graveside gathering will be held at Imperial Memorial Gardens 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, CO 81005 at 2 p.m.
In honor of Kenny, please feel free to wear your favorite Broncos, Nuggets or Rockies apparel and cowboy boots.
