Joseph (Joe) J. Ortiz, 43, went to be with our lord an savior unexpectedly on January 21, 2022. Born on April 2, 1978. Survived by his loving life partner of 23 years Crystal Trujillo, His "good looking boys" Joshua Ortiz-Trujillo, Domonic Ortiz-Trujillo, Isaiah Ortiz-Trujillo, Augustine (Sydney) Ortiz, Joseph (Jazalina) Ortiz Jr. and Christopher Sefcovic, Grandson TaKoda Ortiz-Medina. Sister Desiree Ortiz, Brother James Ortiz, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his mother Aurdey Ortiz, Grandmother Edith Ortiz and Grandfather Orlando Vigil, along with other family members.
Joe lived a very simple life. All he ever wanted was his family to be happy and healthy. He was a very proud father too. Joe came to life when he was able to help raise his new grandson Takoda. The baby was the light of his life this last 15 months, and he would drop anything to help out if needed. He always made sure his family was taken care of as well. Joe was also the cook in our family. He made sure we all ate. His other passion in life was his job. He was working with Shisler's Concrete where he loved joking with his partners. He was out of work with an ankle injury but was very eager to get back to it. He would say how much he missed going to the mountains, or out to the middle of no where to lay foundations. It was the sights and sounds that he missed most.
Joe was always the type of person that could make you smile even though he was very quiet (like most of his children). Once you broke open that hard candy shell, he was filled with sweetness.
Joe, you will be missed dearly. The whole that will be forever in our hearts will never be filled. We will honor your legacy with generations to come. I know you want me to keep things simple so we will leave it with the quote you always said "I love you will all of my heart and I promise we will always be together through our love no matter what happens". And with that we will not say good bye, but see you later.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 3rd, at 10:00 AM at Imperial Funeral Home. 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, CO 81005.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Crystal Trujillo.
