He is survived by his children Herman (Dolores) Arellano of Pueblo, Elaine (John) Padilla of Pueblo West, Karen (Leonardo) Ortega of Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico, Claudia Arellano of Pueblo. He is also survived by his special friend Karen - Triple XXX. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews other family and friends who called him “Old Man Nick”.
He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Lucia Arellano; daughter Carla Padilla; and son Anthony Arellano; sisters Rose Arellano, Lucy Arellano Bertha Vargas; and brother Alfredo Arellano.
Nick was the Santa Claus for Pueblo Bikers United for several years, supported The Wayside Cross Mission by donating a vintage 1970 Cadillac, which was raffled for $25,000. He also did three mission trips to Mexico to build orphanages in Chihuahua, Guerrero, and Rubio, Mexico. He also supported Feed My Sheep Mission that helped feed and clothe small villages in Mexico, and supported many Christian ministries including Billy Graham. He was also a traveling Pastor for many years for the Assemblies of God Church.
He worked at Alpha-Beta, twice at CF & I Steel Mills, the City of Pueblo Streets Division and shops. Nick retired from the Pueblo Army Depot as a Missile Systems Mechanic Specialist, where he was a supervisor and trainer in that capacity. After retiring, he worked at Parkview Hospital as a maintenance assistant supervisor. Nick enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, hunting, skiing, and spending time with his family and friends.
At his request, funeral services will be private.
