Johnny Rodriguez 61, passed away October 4, 2021. He is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Rodriguez. Johnny is survived by son, Stephan (Stefanie) Rodriguez, daughter Vesta (Corey) Renstrom; seven grandchildren, Sol, Luna, Naya Rodriguez, Annika, Atreyu, Minka and Luella Renstrom; mother of his children Deborah Rodriguez; Siblings, Christina (Doug) Ohno and family, Steve Rodriguez and family, Albert Blea and family, Lisa (Art) Rivera and family, John (Indira) Rodriguez and family; father John (Sally) Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews, uncles, and aunts; and special friend and partner, Angie Parlapiano.
Johnny was a big bear of a man that could light up a room. He was raised in Colorado Springs, and later moved to Denver where he started a family at a young age. To provide for his family, Johnny started a career as a painter. He was part of the Painter’s Union, where he worked closely alongside his father and son. He moved to California and watched his family grow. Later in life he came back to Colorado Springs where he lived out the rest of his days. He assisted his sister, caring for their mother while she was ill. Johnny had a great love for his mother and his family. Not only did Johnny have a larger than life personality, but he was also a devout believer in Christ. His faith in Christ made lasting impressions on his grandchildren during the time he had with them. Johnny was loved by many. He was a great storyteller and loved telling jokes. A memorial service for Johnny will take place Thursday, October 7th, 2021 at 2:00pm at Imperial Funeral Home in Pueblo, CO.
