John Platt, 95, passed away March 14, 2011. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen, as well as sister, Helen Titus, and brother, Robert Platt. He is survived by sister, Pauline Oldham, and brother, William Platt; children, John H. (Jacquie) Platt, Jr. of Chandler, AZ, and Joyce (Dr. Nile) Scott of Pueblo; grandchildren, John A. Platt of Denver, Kimberly Scott of Denver and Dr. Brian (Anne) Scott of Pueblo; great-grandchildren, Dane and Rylan Scott; former daughter-in-law, Connie Platt of Denver; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. John was the pillar in the family and greatly admired by all for his quiet and unassuming strength and character – things his family will continue to draw from throughout their lives. He especially loved spending summers at the family cabin in Pitkin, CO, fishing on Blue Mesa Lake. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Viewing will be 2-6 p.m., Sunday, T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2011, at T.G. McCarthy Rose Chapel with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
