James “Jim” W. Goad, 79 of Beulah CO, formerly of Pueblo CO went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Parkview Medical Center. James was born to the union of the late George W. Goad and Frona B Parent Goad. James was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a longtime member of Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ until moving to Colorado.
From a very young age Jim loved business. Jim worked most of his life as an entrepreneur. After serving in the Marine Corps he began managing grocery stores, merchandising routes with Save-a-Stop and Mama’s Cookies. He went on to build a successful trucking company, JP Express covering SE Kansas. He contracted with Safeway Bread in Oklahoma, then building ISSCO Chemicals & Restaurant Equipment. Finishing up his business dreams he built Goad Enterprises with his grandson Bradley Thompson by his side. It was his honor in his last years to have working by his side his sons; Gregory and James Goad and additionally, grandsons Jeffrey Thompson and Caleb Venable. He loved building business and working hard. Jim dedicated his life sharing his blessings with the ministry and others. Many of his business adventures were spent with his wife Joyce, his children Greg, James and Brenda working by his side.
In recent years, he enjoyed his cattle, the evening rides around the Ranch with his wife, and his family. His grandchildren were always a highlight of his life.
He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Joyce Dickey Goad; Daughter, LaDonna (Danny) Goad Wheller of Jonesborough, TN; Son, Gregory (Jennifer) Goad of Beulah, CO; Daughter, Brenda Goad Thompson of Beaufort SC; Son, James T. Goad (Catherine) of Beulah, CO; Sister, Nancy Bush of Solomon; Sister, Vivian Vaughn of Abilene; Brother, Jack Goad of Solomon; Sister, Judy Clyborne of Peoria; Brother, Adelbert Goad of Pueblo; Sister, Helen Leonard of Boston; Sister, Barbara Jordan of WI; Brother, Terry Goad of Ft. Collins; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by brother, William “Bill” Goad; and sister, Marjorie Crivac.
A Funeral Service for Jim will take place at 9:30am, Monday, October 18, 2021 at Imperial Funeral Home. An Interment will immediately follow at Pikes Peak National Cemetery Colorado Springs CO.
