Harold Lee Lewis, 83, completed his journey on this earth Friday night, December 3, 2010. He lived his life as a cowboy, cattleman, and family man in SE Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah and New Mexico. He was born in 1927, on “The McHarg” in Avondale, Colorado; gave two years to his country during WWII, serving with the Navy and SeaBees in the Pacific. He also worked on the Apelt Ranch, at the Pueblo Chemical Depot and with Colorado Interstate Gas. He was proud of his Life Membership with the Masons Silver State Lodge #95. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Bertha Lewis; his children’s mothers, Imogene (Sample) Lewis and Shirley (Ayers) Lewis; half brother, Cecil Burchett. Harold is survived by his wife of 25 years, Virginia; children, Wayne (Miriam) Lewis, Roger (Sylvia) Lewis, Cynthia (Gary) Zwick and Crystal Lewis; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Friday, at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Avondale United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Chico Cemetery. Western attire will be appreciated at the service in honor of Harold.
